That Congressional map is just gob-smacking, a huge sea of red, with coastal bastions of sanity, plus the odd blue seat here and there. Just a depressing graphic to ponder.
80% of Navada is owned by the federal gov't. Utah 66%. Idaho 61% Alaska 61% Oregon 53% Wyoming 48% California 46% New Mexico 35% Montana (my state) 30% Washington 29%
Please read Tim Alberta’s book The Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory: American Evangelicalism in an Age of Extremism. I thought I understood what was going on within the Evangelical Movement, but it is far more insidious. I can read it only during daylight hours; if I read it at night, I am unable to sleep. I do highly recommend it.
Hi Victoria, yes, I anticipate putting together a similar Senate outlook as the field comes more into focus. Since I had already touched on the Senate back in November, I wanted to do a House update. But rest assured, we'll keep on this between now and November!
Question: What is the impact of voting a Blue ballot, across the board? It seems extremely likely, to me viewing from the cheap seats, that Democrats will be successful in our messaging to Vote Them All Out. The R's have proven themselves to be inept and craven opportunists who consistently put themselves (and their dictator leader Trump) above America. We voted party-line Democrat in Michigan for the first time in our lives in 2022 -- it was oddly liberating and satisfying at the same time. Your thoughts?
I'm hearing this more and more. Here where I live, I have some indie friends who voted straight Dem locally for the first time ever. Personally, I think straight Dem voting is important, because it's about values first and foremost, and only the Democratic Party will fight for my values. That's why I became a Democrat. I won't agree with every single Democratic politician on every single issue, but by and large, I'm confident any Dem is better than any Republican, purely from a values standpoint. This is particularly important at the congressional level where each elected member is a vote for the majority. Even if you like your own R House or Senate member, we can't afford to have Republicans in power in either chamber. I would extend that to local legislatures as well. We just can't.
Apologies for that oversight. 538's 2022 average generic ballot only had a 1.2% advantage for Republicans. And Real Clear Politics' average showed 2.5%. In the end, their popular vote advantage ended up being 2.8%. I would have thought the disparity would be greater considering all the "red wave" talk.

Yet most American's are blue. The Electoral College de-democratizes America.
Most of the red is EMPTY space
Don't let the ridiculous way "they" color the EMPTY spaces red overwhelm you.
(The joke is>More COWs than PEOPLE.)
Exactly. Cows, trees, & dirt don't vote. People do . . .
Yes, but just regard the enormous territory given over to the MAGA set...states that I could only fly over rather than pass through...oy vey.

My thoughts exactly!
Honestly, it's terrifying.
It is about human population, not animal population, meaning, bears, cows, pigs, dogs, cats and other animals cannot vote.
It sure is!

Thank you for the rec!
Hope you find it interesting and helpful. 😊
So, basically, just get out there and vote like crazy. Your life DOES depend on it.
Jay, will you do the same breakdown for the Senate?
It's important we hold, or even expand our seats there
and the Republicans are going to fight like crazy to
take it over.

Donated. Thanks for providing the DCCC link.
What did polling say about the House in 2022? It’s not in the chart. Wasn’t it predicting a “red wave”?
