As we continue to work through the results of last week’s election, and as the dust settles and the remaining votes are counted, the doom and gloom hand-wringing about the Democratic Party’s future continues ad nauseam.
Looking forward to your analysis of the bright spots from last week's election. Be sure to mention the wonderful result in Washington State, where voters rejected, by a large margin, an effort to repeal the state's carbon tax and invest program. I've been a climate activist (as a professional and volunteer) for decades; this was the most encouraging vote I've seen in my lifetime. Other states should enact the same program.
At some point can we also talk about Russia calling in its chits from Donnie? First, Russia's version of 60 Minutes, the most popular show on Russian state TV, 'welcomed' the Trumps back to the White House by showing all of Melania's nude modeling photos. Russia doesn't have independent media, so that only happened with Putin's OK. Then, yesterday, one of Putin's closest aides flat out said Russia helped Trump get elected, and they expect him to hold up his end of the deal.
Twice, in less than a week, Putin is laughing in Trump's face, making sure Trump knows who's in charge, and now he's demanding Trump pay him back for the election help - or else.
I am holding my nose for the next 2 years. When Trump has completely and thoroughly messed up everything, Dems will sweep to victory. Let’s hope there’s no permanent damage.
Here's why I don't believe the interviews I heard from people who said they were worried about the economy and the statistics regarding the surveys that said it was all about the economy: all of that ignores they somehow forgot that he sank an economy he inherited from Obama, his hideous handling of the pandemic, and his promises to punish his enemies if he got reelected. It says they somehow had a collective amnesia. It also doesn't account for the Russian interference that we have corroborated by Russia now nor the media attacks on Biden and focusing on 45 more than on Kamala and her campaign. While I said before it comes to racism and sexism which I hold fast to that conclusion I argue that it comes down to the baked in racism/bigotry and sexism/misogyny in this country and Western civilization. So, I really can't believe it was simply the people who voted for him based solely upon the economy.
Sorry my comment got deleted by accident as i was editing it. It was basically saying I don’t understand how anyone thinks things are gonna return to normal if we just live through trump‘s four years he said no one‘s going to vote again. He has set it up so he’s in complete control of everything he wants to be dictator. Those people don’t leave in four years.!You just cant pretend this lunatic is going to follow the rules and let others get back in there . And that goes for the people behind him that arranged all this

That's worth a comment, eh?
Will the country survive as a democracy between now & then?
I hope you touch on Trump’s cabinet choices especially Matt Gaetz for AG and Pete Hesgart for Defense. How can they possibly pass senate approval?
More to come from my perspective as a psychiatrist - but for now, here's this -

TRUMP IS NOT THE PROBLEM, the
Majority of votes went to THE NONVOTERS. We need to understand why the majority decided not to vote. That is our challenge. Pat Sax
People behind the election
