Thanks to President Joe Biden for recognizing the importance of North Carolina! My vote will not count because of the extreme germandering which changed the 6th US District to most of us being in the new 5th District which is overrun by republicans. Several of my relatives will not vote for President Biden saying what has he done? There are more ads in North Carolina about what President Biden has done, but I hope he will also be sending out flyers spelling out 1, 2, 3 exactly what he has done for the country since his inauguration. I know and understand he has done a great deal but I do not explain things well to my family who don't want to hear them anyway. We have to do everything we can to re-elect President Biden and to save our democracy from the former president.

Your congressional vote won't count but your presidential vote will.

I will definitely continue to vote! It should be a national law for all election maps to be drawn by a non-partisan state committee, but I know that will never happen.

"pointillist portrait of post-pandemic population change" should be an official tongue twister.

Over here, in Western North Carolina, we are also fighting hard to build an island of blue in the sea of red in the Asheville area. Asheville has become a well-known diversity and inclusion mecca. While we have our fair share of radical Christian conservatives, there is a vibrant community comprising multiple marginalized groups: LGBTQ+, immigrants, people of color, and non-Christians.

With Mission Health as one of the major employers, there is a large medical community outraged by the political interference in women's reproductive rights and trans-gender care. So, even those who lean conservative, are protective of their rights as medical providers, their ability to do their job, and the rights of the patients.

So... we are working on it.

P. S. If Robinson thinks transgenderism and homosexuality is "filth", he should re-read the Bible, which has everything from statutory r*pe to polygamy.

Good to know, thank you!

Georgia may not seem like a state Biden is likely to win, but the demographics have actually gotten better over the last couple years, not worse.

I live in Atlanta where there will be no Trump lawn signs anywhere south of Cherokee County and north of the airport.

Women here are pissed, too. They're ready to let their voices be heard in Roevember, and if the national campaign Dems ignore this state, it will be a travesty.

Georgia is in play, even in R leaning polls Biden is very close, Biden has large room to grow, Trump does not, suburbs have much higher margins available to be mined for dems. There is a 6 week abortion ban to wedge, Trump on the ballot for high turn out.

I recently moved back to NC after 15 years in TX and CANNOT WAIT for my vote to finally count in this election! We are gonna fight like hell to make sure that psycho Robinson doesn’t take the governor’s office and keep orange Jesus away from the oval office forever!

North Carolina has a history of progressive thinking. But also a history of the most extreme Republicans too (remember Jesse Helms? ). This country has got to be getting tired of extremists. There lies hope.

I've been living in NC for 25 years (military retirement transplant.) Our current governor, Roy Cooper, is a Dem, as was Kay Hagen two governors ago. Between them was Pat McCrory, a Republican, and he turned out to be incredibly corrupt, getting only one term as governor. I think there's a good chance NC will break for Pres Biden, given all the migration to the Research Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill), Charlotte, and Asheville. Those areas are growing rapidly with highly educated workers settling there. The gerrymandering is irritating and discouraging. I live in a smaller city with lots of conservatives, though the liberal Black vote seems to be getting a fair amount of traction.

Once you get east of I95 it’s all red. It’s hard to live here if you have any sense.

Good.

Shove blue down the Right's throat until they CHOKE on it!

I hope the Dems are running candidates in all districts. I understand it’s gerrymandered but with the abortion restrictions and Robinson on the ticket, it may not be a shellacking.

I think there are maybe 2 seats that are going uncontested overall in both houses of state legislature. Dems are fielding candidates everywhere.

In the 3rd district, represented by the execrable Greg Murphy, the Democrats do not have a candidate. Our choice is between him and a Libertarian. It is ridiculous the way the state is gerrymandered.

It's ironic that the maddening, sickening primary win by Mike Robinson (just who is supporting him?) gives me hope for big wins in Nov. But it's not a slam dunk ... in 2020 Roy Cooper won by more than Trump i.e. plenty of voters willing to split the ticket. However I have noticed a significant dearth of Trump flags in our neighborhood this year... even the "Trump Won" flag has gone. The massive influx of new residents during covid and since has surely changed the demographic younger, more diverse, more people working from home vs. all retirees. It will be an interesting election. (Pinehurst NC).

Go North Carolina Team Biden!!! Take it away!

My North Carolina vote hasn't counted in years. I'm in a fairly liberal part of North Carolina, but my representatives are hard line Republicans. It's so disheartening.

Your vote for governor, AG, US Senate (though no election this year) and president do count!

When I moved to NC some 30 years ago it was a fairly progressive state in the southeast (despite electing Jesse Helms). A world-class state University system drew people from around the country (like me) and NC benefitted economically. The hard right turn by the state legislature and state Supreme Court has been disheartening, but it does feel like the pendulum is swing Ming the other way. A Mark Robinson governorship would set women and the state back 50 years.

Good luck with that. There are a lot of racists here.

So the idea that "reverse coattails" isn't normal is up against the idea that TURNOUT tends to favor Democrats. What is likelier to spur Democratic turnout than a state-wide idiot candidate like Robinson?

Donna and every reader of Jay, please check out the link in the following letter to join the Biden for the Win card campaign (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-Z3W8ck1EKZREHsW25n8K3zwbyrhS3ge?usp=sharing) to help President Biden broadcast this administration's achievements:

Welcome Fellow Democracy Savers,

Read on for answers to questions you likely have.

Just what exactly is this campaign about and how does it work?

Our Objective

This campaign is to educate people on the simple facts about the two primary candidates for president. One side of the card features the Biden-Harris team and one side Mr. Trump. Both sides use the same format to discuss accomplishments and statements.

You May Ask…

What’s the point of spreading facts around, the liars and those who believe them will never listen to us or believe this stuff!

I think that is true and MAGA is not the target audience for our campaign. Our target audience is moderate republican voters and independents who are looking for an alternative to Mr. Trump.

Again, You May Ask…

How do we do this? This seems like an awful lot of work, ugh!?

Volunteer as you see fit. We need and appreciate whatever you can bring to the campaign. Read on to see if this campaign is right for you.

We spread facts far and wide by distributing them on two-sided postcards. The card is 6”x4” and is a handout meant to be left places, and passed around. It is not a mailer unless put in an envelope. We provide you;

card templates, printing instructions, and card distribution guides for different personality types so you can be a part of this campaign whomever you are. You only need to provide the card stock, printing, and the amount of time you want to spend distributing cards.

Card Campaign will be making a new card every few to six weeks focused on a single topic. The last card will go out in mid-October, a couple of weeks before Election Day, we currently plan on six single-topic cards after this current card.

The design and format of the cards will remain the same. The text will change as card topics change. The thirteen bars on the Biden side is the American Flag and the three bars on the Trump side is the Confederate Flag.

We thank every one of you from the depths of our hearts for joining this important campaign to save democracy. It’s nothing without you, and it’s Everything with you.
