I think that Trump's goals are twofold here. One is absolutely what you said it was--a political gambit. Horrifyingly, it has succeeded wildly, probably even beyond his own expectations. Second, I think that he's trying to intimidate any prosecutors and if he can't do that, he wants to incite his base to violence (again). He clearly won't intimidate Fani Willis or Jack Smith, so that leaves the "violence card" on the the table, and I fear for our country when one of his brainwashed supporters acts on their delusions.

His rhetoric is indeed inciting, and Fani Willis has had to take security precautions for herself and her staff. It’s appalling.

And I’ll bet that he’s thrilled about that.

Trump is a rat in a corner. He has nothing to lose by being as incendiary as possible. It is the only way he might avoid spending the rest of his life in jail. It doesn't matter one whit to him if he burns down the United States, the democratic world, and the world as a whole, as long as he escapes prison. And if by some chance he is reelected, he and his followers will do everything in their power to ensure that democracy dies in the United States for many, many years.

It’s worth remembering that there was also hard evidence in each of the cases that Trump calls “a hoax.” Mueller acknowledged that the only reason he didn’t call for indictments was because 1. his mandate was so narrow, and 2. because the DOJ informed him that a sitting president can’t be indicted. Some of the Republicans who heard the overwhelming evidence that Trump illegally tried to coerce the Ukrainian government agreed that the prosecutors had made their case; they just didn’t believe the offense warranted impeachment. And so on, and so on. Perhaps Trump doesn’t actually know the meaning of the word “hoax.”

I agree, there was sufficient evidence to prosecute Trump for obstruction of justice, and I’m disappointed that we didn’t do so then. I’m grateful that we are on the cusp of indicting him on additional federal charges around his attempt to overturn the election in 2020.

It is MY opinion that, when President Zelenskyy couldn't be coerced, trump gave his pal putin the green light to go ahead and take Ukraine, that he would be re-elected, and would give him cover from Congress. It is MY opinion that trump is ultimately responsible for the Russia/Ukraine war, and ALL the resulting deaths.

In my opinion the next time djt is arraigned, hopefully in Washington DC by the DOJ Grand Jury reviewing the January 6 domestic terrorism, the judge, will allow no bond and send him to a jail after taking away his phones and laptops. The former president is not only raising money off his demented, deranged rants on his social media network but also threatening Biden, Merrick Garland, Jack Smith and others with violence. He's calling his far right wing followers to "stand down but be ready" as he did before the vote in Congress to certify the 2020 election. He needs to be taken off the streets and silenced before something truly tragic might occur.

Apparently his supporters like supporting someone who acts like a tantruming child. I find it all sickening and tiresome. To think that he polls equally with Biden at 43% according to the NYT will just encourage him to engage in this behavior. Still, he has a right to get the best trial he thinks he can get, and if this is his strategy I am going to count on the courts to manage it.

Today NYT poll shows Biden and Trump each at 43 percent of the votes if election were held now, with 14% undecided or going to vote for a third party candidate. Not good news for the rest of the Trump aligned Repugnicant candidates. Still, it is clear that some of what is turning the 14% off of Trump is his criminal status. So, Trump has to get his MAGAt party to try to spin Hunter Biden into a same kind of criminal that he is, which would be hard. Trump has a lifetime of MOB connections, Hunter has not been around that long. So, he has his narrative and a lot of emotionally immature people vote for Trump. However, there is 14% to be suayed, and while Trump is trying to claim them, it seems like Biden has a slight edge. Try as they may, the House Repugnicants are not able to make the Hunter Biden situation parallel the Trump situation which is growing worse by the day. It certainly makes sense that he follows the White Supremacist Militia playbook of using the internet to relay his message to his followers without saying their names directly, making it look like it is not a RICO violation of organized crime, but at this point in time it seems to me that the entire Repugnicant Party in the House at least, is violating the RICO act, as are members of the Supreme Court. They are practicing organized crime. While busy doing that the Repugnicants are not doing what they are paid to do. How can we fire them?

I think that the DOJ should be investigating the Trump brats , Melania and Jared Kushner if they aren't already ! I hope they are ! For 5 years they have tortured Hunter Biden who's claim to fame ...is being the president 's son . I guess its OK to lie and grift the American people as long as your last name is dumpster! It will not matter of the extensive evidence that the DOJ has against the orange douche bag or the fact that most, if not all comes from repugnants !! And do not tell me that dumpster spent 40 million dollars in 6 months for lawyer's fees ! I'm not buying it . I think he squirreled the money away in off shore accounts to save for a rainy day !! That is what the buffoon does because it has always been about him and only him !!!

I would love to see Jared Kushner investigated for that $2 billion from the Saudis.

We all would! But I would give a pass to Ivanka for having to put up with tfg's comments on her appearance and "what it might be like to have sex with her."

Trump never conceded publicly that Joe Biden was elected president. How can Trump run for a third term?

I believe tfg has moved on from expecting to be elected so he can pardon himself. He knows that ship has sailed. He's so afraid of The Greybar Hotel that he's pushing for violence to prevent that - nothing more, nothing less.
