Jay, great summary (as usual), but I must quibble with your use of the word "blueprint" for what the House passed. An actual blueprint (or more modern equivalent) is usually very detailed. What they passed is a FRAMEWORK or an OUTLINE - just the external structure, withOUT the details filled in.

Why are we normalizing the idea that it’s acceptable to increase tax cuts for the wealthy at all? Why is it discussed as if it’s expected and okay? And why is increasing the debt limit into the trillions even a thought?
If that 'Big, Beautiful Bill' causes vets to be unable to afford their medication, and nursing homes to shutter their doors, and rural hospitals to close all over this country, then there will be an upheaval the likes of which have never been seen before! What pisses me off the most is that people who make less than $29000 will pay $790 more in taxes. That is a lot for people in that bracket. People who make more than $900000 will pay $36000 less. That will not make a significant difference to those people. And we are adding Trillions to the deficit for that and people will literally die because of the cuts to social service.

How about "providing health care to cancer patients is waste because they are likely gonna die anyway" Or they could dip into the boxes marked Medicare and say "anyone over 80 is likely not to be around to vote in 2028, so it is a waste to keep them alive." Or on work requirements: It is fraud to say that you are working three jobs since some of them are part time, not 8 hour days. Or "it is abuse of the system to accept low paying jobs."
