I applaud the work of the 22 AGs from the Blue states. Colorado AG, Phil Weiser is one of them. The situation seems rather hopeless right now. We need an enforcement mechanism. Someone has to be able to issue an arrest warrant against muskrat. And a law enforcement agency must be willing to make the arrest. But the AGs are doing SOMETHING. Which is so much better than wringing their hands and waiting for the moment when they get to say "I told you so!" When that moment comes, it's too late, we've all lost.
IANAL, but it seems to me that the private citizens who cause the withholding of funds California or Californians are entitled to are committing Grand Theft - a state crime Trump can't pardon away. Notably, Grand Theft isn't about keeping the stolen items for themselves, but about depriving the rightful owner of possession of it.
It would take quite a while to get prosecution going, though.
What I'm really hoping for, though, is to hit Musk with damages - enough to wipe him out financially. Not sure if that's possible, though.
We live in hope against these criminal bastards Trump and Musk. Especially Musk who has become rich on other people's backs and comes from a very corrupt country, where he learned these skills I say revoke his American citizenship as he is being very unAmerican.
Revoking his citizenship is not completely impossible. It appears that he may have come as an illegal immigrant when he misused his student visa. If he lied about that on his citizenship application, it could be revoked.
Right. And all of these Federal cases will end up at the Supreme Court “…where in yet another 6-3 decision, the court has overturned decades of established precedent to affirm Trump Administration policy of (fill in the blank)…”
And even if the courts decide against Trump, who will enforce the law??? The Attorney General??? The Justice Department??? Congress through the power of Impeachment???
Don't give up hope too quickly. Courts have more tools at their disposal than you think.
IANAL, but here are some thoughts. I wouldn't be surprised if some creative attorneys and/or judges are already thinking along those lines.
For instance, the Treasury keeps its money in regular bank accounts. A court could order the bank to release those funds even without a check printed by Treasury. Of course, that's hard to do on a scale of millions of payments, but it is an option.
A court could also freeze Musk's bank accounts, maybe even force a fire-sale of his various stock holdings, to ensure that if damages need to be covered, the money is available.
Really love reading these profiles about my home state public servants! Also, shout out to my adopted state AG, Phil Weiser out of CO. Thank god the blue state govs and AG’s are fighting back for us. Now we need House and Senate Dems to do the same, all day, every day. Looking at you, Hakeem and Chuck!!
Right out of the pig sty, 3 back to back Bigly Winning Bitch slaps for FOTUS and team. I forget just how many "stolen election" fraud cases were thrown out or rejected, but believe it was 60+. So that's the number to beat.
These inbred MAGAt jagoffs, never learn. We've got endless bags of popcorn and are going to be trampling your wounded, hurdling your dead, then pissing and dancing on your graves.
The Trump administration has already demonstrated a willingness to ignore court orders, he just does not care. There is no viable enforcement mechanism in place, Any thoughts that he can be checked make no sense
I’m so proud of Rob Bonita and California for standing up to the Trump administrations crazy antics. I’m also so grateful to live in California, especially now.

"We need an enforcement mechanism." And as just dumb vance said (was it yesterday?), "yeah? who's gonna make us? Huh?" (I'm paraphrasing.)
I can only say that I’m with you and all the other Attorneys General who are willing to take action! Hopelessness is not a strategy!
Love my California AG and much respect for the other blue AG’s . Thank you 👏🏼
Thank you AG Bonta for standing up for us Californian-Americans!

The Republicans have been planning this takeover for 50 years! Hillary was right. it's a vast right wing conspiracy.

At the end of the day there is no one to enforce the law…

Trump and his cabal will simply ignore the courts. He's weaseled out of everything before.
The state AG's are doing something, where are the REP'S? At least I'm getting acknowledgement from Mark Kelly, crickets from the others.
