Maybe the younger people would have kids if these idiots & their proposed future weren't so scary. Who wants to bring a female child into their world? Rapists, misogynists, felons.
"Thiel has called into question the wisdom of extending the vote to women." NO VOTE, NO BABIES. How about that?
The real panic and motivation for the call for more babies is to call it what it is, they want more white babies. The Republicans are willing to remove bodily autonomy for women to force them to have more white babies. Both Trump and Musk believe in the discredited ideas of eugenics and are convinced of their own genetic superiority, which is a total crock. Musk has had 12 children with different women through IVF. He and his first wife Justine had 5, including Musk’s transgender daughter who wants nothing to do with him. He doesn’t play much of a role in their lives except for photo ops.
I can't help thinking that the broligarchy goal is a Big Bro dystopia for most of us. There are already ignored segments of that, our cruel penal system being one; Amazon labor practices not so extreme and yet another? Anyone who has not watched the German film 'The Lives of Others' should do so.
A friend of mine and I disagree on one point. I think Trump will meet the 25th Amendment. She feels that this conclave will simply smother Trump in his sleep. Her rationale is that he's too much of a hero to some to go quietly into oblivion.
I have been wondering about the impact of their initiating a rout of trump via the 25th Amendment, too. Better the devil you know, than giving vance/thiel an unelected term (of whatever length) in the White House, and get elected for another possible 8 years. It would be in their best interest, though, to encourage trump to do unpredictable, scary things so people would question his ability to lead. I'm thinking it's best to let trump stay in the oval office for his one term. Then, if trump actually winds up not running in '28, let vance try to run for President after being a VP who has been benched rather than consistently in the spotlight. Then, in '28, Vance would then have to compete against a huge field of other trump-thwarted candidates who would ruthlessly try their luck again. Since trump isn't going to do anything for the working class voters who wanted affordable rent, mortgages, and groceries, they're going to seek a change, still wanting their economic needs to be addressed. It's going to be obvious by then that the republicans did nothing for them. I don't know that vance, or anyone else would be popular with their base if the 25th is utilized nor would a bunch of trump loyalists dare to try it. But, he hasn't even taken office yet. We know that things, with trump, can certainly unfold in unforeseeable ways.
I say, more analysis alongs these lines, for here is where the clearly obfuscated threat lies. If DJT’s mental decline doesn’t happen fast enough for them, then he’ll just be declared incompetent. (Don’t get me wrong: I am not defending the man.) Maybe making noise will cause DJT’s family and allies to rise up, if they have not all been brought and paid for a thousand times over. Fire in the pit is what is needed.
It was obvious when Vance was named as trump's running mate that the choice was the result of monied interests behind Vance. Musk's ascendency as trump's shadow--sometimes casting himself out in front of trump--made it even clearer: the tech bros groomed, then hand-picked Vance as their choice. Thiel doesn't appear interested in being the "front man," and Musk can't--because he's an immigrant. But Vance is their man. I don't know when, but I predict at some point they will engineer Article 25 to remove trump and install Vance as president. It could be soon after the inauguration--they need to get him sworn in; or maybe the move will be tied to their best guesses about how to influence the midterms. But I firmly believe that we will see a President Vance before trump's term expires.
Agreed. I've thought from the beginning that trump would be the puppet of someone in the GOP, but not until I read an article about Yarvin and Thiel did I realize who it'd be. Trump is the mere vehicle chosen to get them in the WH. He'll be superfluous as soon as he takes the oath.
I feel the powers behind him will be somewhat judicious in creating his absence, as MAGA is still capable of an uprising on his behalf, but once that pesky detail is resolved, trump will be gone. No loss.
But then we have a cabal of intelligent criminals determined to mold America into their idea of an obedient cash cow. They'll strip us of all that's valuable, our resources and futures, then abandon us to foreign enemies. It will take decades, but unless we unite to fight for our democracy, we'll be another collective of small countries or an entire nation in ruins.
The long-term view you lay out is frightening, indeed. We must ensure that doesn't happen! And in the meantime, we need to do everything we can to fight against what the Musk/Thiel/Vance cabal and Congressional MAGA will dish out.
Yes, there's that! In my exchange with Joan Eisenstodt, we discussed Vance being the tech bros' choice. But you are 100% correct that trump isn't interested in governing--he never was; it's always been about the trappings of power and his making money. When you throw in his declining health and diminishing mental acuity, it's really easy to predict that he won't last long in his term.
Well, Trump will more than likely continue to have rallies as his method of getting his necessary infusion of praise and applause...and the rest of the time he'll play golf and leave that hard, nasty governing work to JD (that way he can throw JD under the bus if necessary). Trump won't be under any stress--unless Congress proves to be far more difficult to herd than even Lone Skum can imagine.
I still think Trump's main reason for running was to stay out of prison; he hoped to have all charges dismissed and then he could retire happily to the golf course. Judge Merchan has erected a roadblock, so Trump will continue to stay on until he has his record expunged.
He would have to convince New York to do this, and I’m not convinced he could. I do think he’ll give a mass pardon to his groupies who carried out Jan. 6 and the enablers who also were held unaccountable. I think he’ll try pardoning himself, which is constitutionally dubious.
I've read about Yarvin before. We are now in a very precarious position as a democracy, with our guardrails soon to be under systematic attack. Resistance is useful, but support for those in the thick of the fray in Congress will be vital. As events play out, the numbers who resist should increase as people are shaken out of their stupor, but it will take more than numbers to save democracy. Research ways to effectively resist, whether silent boycotts, or active support of laws under attack.
Time to start characterizing these guys as "the boss you always hated." It's the only way to keep democracy desirable for the uninformed who think a dictator is a fine idea. There are all kinds of relationships. We can all be on a team with a captain (elected officials) or we can be day slaves to the world's worst boss. "We don't need no more stinkin' bosses." That's the message.
I subscribe to Dinesh D'Souza's Facebook page and read the posts and many of the comments. Among other truly amazing things, is the fact that most of the folks on this MAGA site, do not believe in nor want democracy. They reject it and if the issue comes up, remind people that the US is a Constitutional Republic as if being so means we are NOT a democracy. So Peter Thiel's comments fit right in.
Populists very seldom get the government that they want and they very seldom want the government that they get! This unlikely and unwieldy coalition of factions that are diametrically opposed on tmmigration will never be able to find a compromise that is pleasing to all and, once again, nothing will get done! The resulting tug-of-war between the two sides will generate reams of news stories but nothing of substance. The Rs are too leery of upsetting their constituents and not getting re-elected! They are incapable of governing because:
A. They don't know how to govern and
B. They want government to fail!
Why people keep voting for these goofballs is one of the more mystifying phenomena of our democracy.
Thiel bought Vance's VP slot knowing full well that Donald's deteriorating from dementia. Hundreds of mental health experts desperate to warn the public signed Dr. John Gartner's (Duty to Warn) petition. He's unable to drink with one hand, speaks in word salads, gait and balance problems, speech difficulties, incontinent. These indicate organic brain disease.
Those close to him are well aware of his incontinence, even with Walt nearby to change him, and recognize his decline. The media carefully sane washed his babbling tirades and managed to keep the opinions of experts from reaching the public.
Thiel, Leonard Leo, Harlan Crow and the other billionaire backers of Project 2025 have counted on Trump's decline to move forward (they only needed him and his cult of followers briefly).
Fred Trump refused to step down even while he was dying of dementia (Alzheimer's), they built him a fake office. Maryanne Trump Barry died of dementia at 86 and multiple cousins died of it.
The question is how quickly will they bring up the 25th amendment to depose him -if he lasts that long.
I concur, and I think the possibility exists he may have a form of dementia that isn’t Alzheimer’s, like progressive supranuclear palsy, or Lewy body dementia.
His inability to drink with one hand (loss of motor skills), gait and balance problems and word salads indicate organic brain disease. A forensic psychiatrist and some other experts identify frontotemporal dementia specifically.
Fred Trump refused to step down even while dying of dementia (Alzheimer’s), they built him a fake office. Maryanne Trump Barry died of dementia at 86 and cousins also suffered from dementia. Donald didn’t escape the legacy. He belongs in assisted living where his diapers can be changed, not by Walt Nauta.
Sunlight. Balanced journalism. Courage. Solidarity. We’re in this together, and when we get tired, or attacked, or repressed, the next progressive in line steps up. These times won’t last. Dictators don’t last. Hitler and Mussolini didn’t. Pol Pat didn’t. Orbán won’t, and neither will Trump/Vance/Musk/Thiel/Yarvin.
Maybe the younger people would have kids if these idiots & their proposed future weren't so scary. Who wants to bring a female child into their world? Rapists, misogynists, felons.
"Thiel has called into question the wisdom of extending the vote to women." NO VOTE, NO BABIES. How about that?
I think no babies for at least four years.
Excellent idea.
Do what the Greek women do in Lysistrata, no sex if you persist in making wars.
S A
Part of the reason 3 of my 4 children don't plan to procreate.
They never think about the possible consequences of their actions.

Sounds like Ceausescu, among many, many other fascist strong men.
We are already seeing this in Texas.
Takes $$ to raise children. Living paycheck to paycheck gives one pause I would think.
This is all so scary but very good to know and be prepared with the information we need to stand up and resist this takeover of our democracy.
Thank you for reading!
Vance is the next threat
Vance is the tool of the next real threat. A willing tool with no hesitation at carrying out his orders, but a tool nonetheless.
I mean, running the state like a corporation is practically what Mussolini did or tried to do, so: they be straight up fascists.
The corporations have been steering the government and writing the laws to benefit themselves for years now.
With Citizens United, that has become a practical reality. They just haven't taken total control. Yet.
The broligarchy is simply the next logical step.
The creator of fascism, said:
“Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power”
― Benito Mussolini

Either way Vance is the next president.

Utterly terrifying!

I agree. Trump does not have the physical stamina, mental acuity, nor interest in governing. He will not last long.

Trump will be golfing and puding for pictures while the techbros and Vance implement project XX-XXV

Thank you, Marge.
Exactly! I don't get it either.
Since you call yourself Commonsense, of course you don't get it, because it makes no sense; it's Nonsense!
C'mon people. Have some

There are millions of us who

just posted this enlightening

This is disturbing. How can these misaligned, nefarious efforts be thwarted?

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I have a feeling that it will also take a degree of fighting fire with fire (or money in this case).
Or fire in another case.
Don’t forget Thiel’s guy Jim O’Neill, nominated as RFK Jr’s second in command. (Second for how long?)
