No one should ever vote for anyone based on their last name. Everyone has a responsibility to learn about political candidates and then make a decision about who to vote for. The key word here is responsibility.
Whether we like it or not, name recognition is always going to be currency in politics. It's our job to make sure that his substantive views get the airing they deserve to overcome the Kennedy name.

I hope that Biden starts campaigning for the Presidency soon and runs on his record and his vision for the next term. He should ignore Kennedy and avoid speaking about him unless specifically asked.
Kennedy cannot win a Democratic primary, but if he decides to fuck America harder by initiating a 3rd-party campaign, I’m not sure yet which major party would be screwed the worst. He might siphon more Republican voters who are increasingly embarrassed by Trump than Democratic voters with Biden issues. I’d rather not risk it though.
