I guess I’ve grown old.

I remember a time when the Republican Party and all its members saw the “Soviet threat” as the Number #1 threat to American Democracy and our Allies, and called Democrats “soft” on this threat.

And now? It’s “party over country” and their *only* allegiance is to anyone that can provide them with “stories” that will fit their narrative of Democratic Party “corruption”.

I’d call it “sad” if it weren’t so truly gut wrenching.

I wrote sickeningly sad not just sad.

Just keep in mind that the Republicans in the House are imploding and regularly starting to jump ship, and do it in a way to stick it to the remaining Republicans.

True enough! Rep. Mike Gallagher waited until *after* the deadline to announce his resignation, throwing his replacement all the way to the November general election.

He certainly shived them on the way out!

Rats diving off of a sinking ship. Some called out the forever bad behavior, while others turned a blind eye.

The rest deserve to go down with the ship!

First the RNC then the GOP.

Biden will then have the Senate & the House!!

Remember when a bunch of MAGA Reps (and Senators?) all spent the Fourth of July in Russia? Who were they again? Did it include Johnson and Sessions? And who else? And WTF were they doing there anyhow? Didn't even celebrate our freedoms... didn't even spend time with their families? How low have they fallen? All the way into Putin's pocket. The MAGAs are now just so much lint in a very filthy pocket. But I'm betting they are flush with Rubles.

According to WaPo, "Sens. Richard C. Shelby (Ala.), Steve Daines (Mont.), John Hoeven (N.D.), John Neely Kennedy (La.), Jerry Moran (Kan.), John Thune (S.D.) and [Ron] Johnson, plus Rep. Kay Granger (Tex.)" were the attendees. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/eight-republicans-spent-july-4-in-russia-where-are-the-fireworks/2018/07/06/beae30be-812e-11e8-b658-4f4d2a1aeef1_story.html

THANK YOU! 🙏🏼

I'm trying to remember if we had any journalists or American citizens in Putin's prisons at that time. It seems decades ago.

Or if they asked about them at all. They may have been delivering messages or a pre-view of top secret documents...

Remember when the Conservative Political Action Conference met in Hungary on May 18, 2022, with a keynote from Prime Minister Viktor Orban? What was that all about?

Expand full comment

yeah... what was that all about?

I long for a genuine, investigative reporter to bear down on all this trash littering our nation, and expose them for the toxic cockroaches they have become.

I'm sure whatever was discussed in back rooms in 22 was continued in THIS YEAR'S CPAC back rooms! And later at Mar a Lago.

If it wasn't so sickeningly sad it would be funny. The problem remains no matter how ridiculous and harmful the Republicans are seen to be they remain evil monkeys throwing shit as far as they can as long as they can. Let's hope there are fewer of them after the election.

Let’s hope there are none of them after the election. However unlikely that may be. 😎

What’s insane is this. Congress is so busy with one upmanship either partisan divide, they have become an embarrassment. There should and needs to be audits done to every government position.

I am an independent that will vote all Democrat from here on out if Jorden, comer, Graseley, Gommet, Gaets, Greene, Graham, Boebert, Oh and Johnson, who am I missing here?

In thr real real world you don’t get to keep your job while lieing, blaming and actually never doing the work?

Partisan divide? Nope. This is all on the GQP, period. I applaud your commitment to vote all Democrat, but the heck with reflexive “bothsiderism”. Only one side is responsible for all this traitorous garbage.

Exactly.

It’s not “Congress”.

It’s not “Washington”.

It’s the REPUBLICANS. Period.

“What’s insane is this. Congress is so busy with one upmanship either partisan divide”

What’s insane is this: The people blame “Congress” when it is solely the Republican Party that’s causing the problems.

It’s not the Democrats that have conspired with Russia.

It’s not the Democrats that have the refused to negotiate on the budget.

It’s not the Democrats that are holding up support for Ukraine and Gaza.

I could go on for literally 100 more.

Stop acting as if both sides of Congress are the problem.

Not sure why this isn’t a massive news story. Oh, that’s right…Murdoch.

So to me the next obvious question is: when do the REAL investigations begin?

Or arrests?

Pete Sessions

Ron Johnson

Devin Nunes

Chuck Grassley

Comer

Jordan

Bill Barr

Brady

Hannity

John Solomon

Isn’t this TREASON?

The collaboration of Trump and his supporters does not end with disinformation (I.e. spreading lies). They have also worked actively to undermine NATO and to hamper the US military, for example by blocking all officer promotions for a year. It’s a new kind of treason, carried on in the open disguised as buffoonery.

I’ll say it again, there’s a perception that a bunch of Russian agent’s that are running around Washington D.C. claiming to be members of the United States Congress are actually Russian Agents .

Why is this NOT being covered by ABC and CBS? I wouldn’t know orbits on NBC - I won’t watch them.

My question continues to be - as it has been for the past 5-6 years: when do these people lose their jobs and face the consequences. We know their rabid base doesn't care if they are in bed with Russia. So, whether or not they get voted out of their respective offices is a question. They are traitors. They should be in jail. Not tomorrow, not a year from now. They should be arrested now.

I do not know how this country can continue to harbor those who have and who still are pushing Russian propaganda all in the name of the First Amendment. Nor do I understand that so-called news agencies can get away with helping these same entities by not actively and stringently fact checking everything before publishing. Reputable news agencies used to be scrupulous about doing such and when false information was printed, retractions and corrections were made where they would be read; not hidden on some back page. With great freedoms come great responsibilities. We are paying the price for allowing sloppiness, consolidation and big money to invade our information organizations and we are paying a very steep price now.

Funny how the testimony offered by smirnov resulted in investigation and declining to prosecute.

Fast forward, comer with little to no new or relevant evidence, wants to refer crimes to doj to cover his ass.
