At Howard Kamala took Economics classes and was president of the Economics Club.

Ok, WHY does it surprise people that Kamala Harris had improved her communication skills and her expertise since 2019? That's what really smart people do. Do we seriously have to explain this? She looked at her weak points, she worked on them, she had all this time being the Vice President - of COURSE she had improved!

She's always growing and improving!

And she's been mentored by one of the best in the business. You don't stay in Washington as long as Joe has, and not learn a thing or two.

I think you pretty much nailed that one on the head. Well done.

I agree completely with what she is doing. But it is so disheartening how much effort it takes to avoid a gotcha press and the massive exploitation that it engenders. I'm sure it has always been this way to some extent. But it has become more and more predominant and more and more dangerous in my opinion. I am so grateful that the Harris-Walz ticket knows what it is up against. They have to run their campaign like Ali fought - float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.

Interesting that it is the first time a Democrat has been in the lead in the 'who do you trust to take care of the US economy' poll. Remarkable when you consider it is the Democratic presidents that have kept hauling us out of huge financial holes the Republicans placed us in.

One line from Michelle Obama struck me last night: "Kamala Harris knows most of us will never be afforded the grace of failing forward", speaking of Trump's privilege allowing him to cover up his failures.

I think Kamala could take this even further. She has room to start getting more pointed in her criticisms of Republican trickledown economic policies that have been failing forward for decades, beginning from Reagan on through to Trump.

And Republican economics fail us precisely because the vast majority of us cannot afford to fail forward, and they deliberately ignored us.

Since media staunchly refuse to adequately cover the successes of Biden's policies, and probably never will, it is time to go on the attack. She can have others get the message out for her; there are so many powerful speakers and a new generation of politicians that showed up at the Convention.

Ask how Republicans planned to pay for their trillion-dollar tax cuts for the 1%ers, because clearly trickle down doesn't work.

Talk about how unregulated crypto is a money laundering operation and a Ponzi scheme that funnels dark money into our politics.

Point out how much of healthcare monies go to middlemen who did nothing and add no value; in fact, they literally block doing more sensible, less costly procedures, for the sake of high cash flow into their coffers.

It is time to go on a steady and relentless attack on all the old worn-out Republican tropes that gave us voodoo economics and levels of greed (think Musk) we've haven't seen since the gilded age.

I am also dumb founded by Americans seeing R's as "good for the economy" when notoriously they are not. R's have put us in recessions 10X more than Dems. Dems have notoriously better economies- it may be that D presidents take over during recessions and that's what sticks? I just don't understand the logic

The only weakness I saw in John McCain’s candidacy was Sarah Palin.

Kamala is doing a wonderful joyous job and hopefully she defeats the fascist Trump. Meanwhile America is still sending bombs enabling the ongoing Israeli genocide of Gazans not to mention stealing more land in the West Bank and imprisoning the Palestinians there. I will be listening tonight to hear if Bernie sobers us up on this .

Kamala has repeatedly called for a cease fire. Biden last night in his farewell address also called for a cease fire. Anthony Blinken is in Israel, Egypt, and Qua-tar bravely and tirelessly working on a cease fire. It’s agonizing. It’s a nightmare.

But Trump is trying to (illegally) convince Netanyahu to not agree to a cease fire as it would hurt his chances against Harris

In the next two months, Kamala Harris must distinguish herself from President Biden and carve out her own policies and positions. Her preliminary economic proposals are quite progressive in nature. The Ds will need control of both houses in order to pass them. The best way to fund the proposals is to increase taxes on Big Corporations and the wealthy. The Rs will fight this tooth and nail!

And she is using stories at the DNC.

The Dems released their very comprehensive platform which Harris has referred to or used a number of times. If anyone wants to learn what Kamala & Tim's policy direction is, I recommend a review of the platform.

A good look at her moves. I am hopeful.
