I wish someone would develop and publish a list of Trump's promises and what he actually accomplishes. Seeing them piecemeal doesn't emphasize the enormity of his BS and the fact that he isn't a strategist, he pushes transactions. Such a list should also describe the effect of his promises, good (probably minor) and bad (probably large). This could be updated constantly and visible to all.
If Trump’s two wives were not citizens at the time, their children were born then this is a real problem for him. It would mean that Ivanka Dan, Junior, Eric and Baron are all going to lose their birthright citizenship. I really really hope that happens.
So, I forget who it is, but one of the radical Republicans had suggested a hot line for people to call and report potentially illegal immigrants. To which a lot of us said - ok. Bring it. We are going to flood that thing with reports the Trump kids, Elon Musk, and Melania.
I may be mistaken, but I understood that birthright citizenship was automatically granted if one parent was a U.S. citizen, regardless of the status of the other parent. Am I wrong?
The lawyers are ready. Trump will be stopped. There will be no "mass deportation." Every person proposed to be deported is entitled to due process and must go before a judge.
The lawyers are ready. Trump will be stopped. He cannot simply end birthright citizenship just because he says so. His interpretation of the 14th Amendment will have to go through the courts.
The lawyers will employ the favorite Republican tactic of delay, delay, delay.
Given Trump's success at avoiding or manipulating the legal system, it seems unduly optimistic to think he'll bother with the courts. I imagine his attorneys and funders are already developing ways to enact deportation and his other outrages without regard to what the courts or the Constitution say.
I expect his first day to be a triumphant (on his part) expression of revenge on anyone who stands against him. I can only hope that his various sychophantic nominees get so far in each others' ways that they cancel each other out for a very long time.
On Day 2, if not sooner, Trump and his minions will be explaining how it is the Democrats/ Biden’s fault that he can’t do everything he planned to do on Day 1. They will also be busy on Days 1 and 2 day bragging about how he was responsible for the ceasefire.
“But the extent to which Trump will likely fall short on the mass deportation issue during even his first week in office is likely to rankle many in his MAGA base.”
>>Seriously?? You think his MAGA base will have the smarts to even understand that Trump has lied his way back into office? Trump is nothing BUT lies. And they’ve embraced it ALL.
I think Trump and fans should be reminded of who all & what all American companies have their manufacturing IN CHINA, just ONE of the NON AMERICAN countries where tons of American companies create their goods. Let your mind be blown:
And this: The top five suppliers of U.S. goods imports in 2022 were: China ($536.3 billion), Mexico ($454.8 billion), Canada ($436.6 billion), Japan ($148.1 billion), and Germany ($146.6 billion). U.S. goods imports from the European Union 27 were $553.3 billion.
You know what I would like to see? Every time he goes to speak anywhere - whether it's the White House press conference or just... somewhere - for several people to yell at him, "You disgusting turd, you don't even know what you are talking about!" And so on.
For members of the White House staff to stick notes like "r*pist" and "traitor" on the back of his suit and for his Secret Service detail to let it slide - since hey, it presents no danger to his life. He is a bully. This is the only language he understands. Ridicule him. Deny him entry to places using the most ridiculous but legal excuses. I want him to have extremely unsettling, uncomfortable, and nerve-wracking four years - just like the rest of us.
I’m looking forward to calling my gop congressman to demand progress reports on reducing housing and grocery costs—😹

Please post your comment on blue sky. Perhaps one of the journalist there can put together what you’re requesting. I think it’s a great idea.
Ron Filipkowski of the Meidas Touch Network put this together https://x.com/RonFilipkowski/status/1854641422617424326

Also remember to report the "violating student visa" immigrants like Elon Musk (Canada/South Africa) and Peter Thiel (Germany).

For his kids, yes. For other people's kids, no.

That's just two examples.

At this point my expectations are so low I'm afraid we may have to call it a win if he doesn't start WWIII.
This is where ellipses come in handy: “The U.S. flag is flown at half staff…. [a]s we approach Donald Trump’s second inauguration.”
You only need to be a dictator on Day One, if you're going to be a king starting on Day Two.
Will anything be eggsempt? Will Canadian and Mexican eggs cost more? How about Chinese eggs.

As I read this I think (again) "they've elected a moron."
Infrastructure Week, every day!
The Prince of Lies creates only illusion.

If trump starts rounding up Cubans, how are the Florida Cubans who voted for him going to take that?
