In 2017 the Republican majority passed legislation, signed by the governor, declaring MO to be a right to work state. In 2018, using a ballot initiative, the voters of MO rejected the 2017 law. This is why MO, a red state, is not a right to work state. After using ballot initiatives to successfully expand Medicaid and legalize medical and recreational marijuana, Republicans tried to increase the threshold for ballot initiatives but were never able to pass anything. There is a fight going on right now to change the extreme state abortion ban using ballot initiatives and our Attorney General just lost a court fight due to the biased language he was trying to force the initiatives to use. There's another ballot initiative to raise the minimum wage in MO to $15/hour. There are ways around Republican legislators.

Trump is a Fraud!

The Trump Stunt in Michigan was performance only...and, from what I hear, tRump isn’t going to be able to afford planting people in the audience much longer.

In fact, I’m looking forward to the day when he can’t afford to fill the tanks of his Putin-Plane anymore.

That last sentence is key - somehow we have to get people to see the true story and understand who is really to blame, who has their interest at heart and who doesn't. Too many people fall for the spin because it's fast and easy.

Dems. 'fall for the spin' everytime.

Please do tell me why Biden was there....you have an election coming up. If you didn't he would not have been there.

Paid sick leave for the Railway Unions..Biden said NO!

To tell the nation what he stands for. That’s why he was there. Any photos taken help tell that to the public.

I think the railway had certain special circumstances attached if I’m not mistaken.

Actually there is an update on this, they did get their paid sick days. From ibew.org:

We’re thankful that the Biden administration played the long game on sick days and stuck with us for months after Congress imposed our updated national agreement,” Russo said. “Without making a big show of it, Joe Biden and members of his administration in the Transportation and Labor departments have been working continuously to get guaranteed paid sick days for all railroad workers.

Don't forget to put a lot of the blame on the media. They normalize trump, demonize Democrats by adding the word but to any positive accomplishment of this administration, and pound the news of high gas and food prices without ever mentioning corporate greed as the main reason for that. I'm done with all of them. They care more about causing chaos and division in their never ending quest for higher profits, facts be damned.

Interestingly enough the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is one of the think tanks that is an advisory member of the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025.

More and more people are starting to wake up and take notice of Movement Conservatism's use of non-profit think tanks and similar organizations to carry out an organized, subtle, administrative warfare on the federal level workers, agencies, and nongovernmental organizations that directly support the work of the federal government in service to citizens throughout the country; the activities and messaging produced by these conservative groups and individuals are all intended to muddy the waters, distort reality, and deceptively mislead people into siding with Republicans is currently, perhaps, the single greatest and most dangerous element of Movement Conservatism's battle for control of the American systems of government and rule.

Yes, the role of the network of think tanks and other organizations funded by the billionaire libertarian feral capitalists, with the goal of reducing or eliminating federal regulation of industries and taxes, has been under-appreciated in spite of decades of attempts to warn people. For instance, around 20 years ago I caught the end of a Bill Moyers interview on the activities of ALEC, where he concluded that they were a distinct hazard to democracy, and people should know about their programs. Unfortunately, the press in general focuses on fast-moving rather than slow-moving events, and a lot of people don't pay attention to government or in-depth news anyway.

Living in a "Right to Work" state (NC in my case) is hell and a half. The constant fear of being canned for any reason at any time, combined with our sadistic health insurance system, where no work = no benefits = no ability to get healthcare for yourself or your family, make for a perfect unending circle of employee bullying, overwork, and burnout. In my area of the state, where healthcare is actually one of the primary industries, and we have large Medicare and Medicaid populations, this is particularly obvious.

American car makers are not competitive on the international market concerning quality and margin per car. I think the UAW should keep striking to make more obvious that the only long term beneficiary is Tesla, unless the government will try to add more regulations to hinder Teslas growth.
