So, I really need someone to explain to me what this “national emergency” declaration is supposed to be. There’s zero legal basis for it - I could yell the same and it’d have the same effect.
We remain fortunate that these plotters are second raters -- how much more dangerous this would be if they were competent intelligence operatives. Dangerous, yes. Capable, no.
I think elections have become a nightmare. And I wonder, if we have to vote in person, will we be required to not wear masks when we vote? We wear them all the time now, because we are older, and I have asthma, so we don't want to get any respiratory infections. We have been voting by mail because at our age the state of Texas allows us to do so.
We all vote by mail here in my state. I walk my ballot to a drop box. There are election workers here to monitor the boxes to ensure nothing nefarious happens.
We need to win by a large majority that will stymie the claims of fraud. They’ll probably still try, but remember that Trump lost all his cases in 2020.
Maybe I'm just blowing smoke but aside from all the legal actions and other strategies outlined to fight the election tampering, I think we need to be prepared to mass citizen protests-thousands of people to stand between our local election infrastructure and ballots cast, and the federal thugs who come to steal the election.
We know Donald Trump is going to try and cheat in every way possible. He has always been a dishonest cheat and always will be. In particular, he and Johnson have pretty much already guaranteed that they will be yelling fraud as soon as the election is over.
Fortunately, sunlight is the best disinfectant. Trump's 'I have a delusion' speech did a lot to reveal what they are planning. Especially with voter fraud charges, calling them our ahead of time undermines the claims. They can't be making charges based on evidence it they were already planning the charges pre-election. Solomon definitely increases the risk factor, but the strategy remains the same; keep calling them out at every turn,
It would have been so much easier if we had just voted in strong enough numbers for Harris, eh? Alas, the call to learn hard lessons was louder. Fighting back would be easier if Orange Jesus hadn’t thrown the Constitution (and all the laws that go with it) out the window. Here in AZ, Andy Biggs handily won the Republican primary. MAGA is alive and well here. Will Hobbs be able to stave him off? It’s like watching a cat rodeo while the enemy bears down on us with 100-ton tanks.
Alarming stuff, Jay! We have to figure out truly effective ways to combat these people. How can we best derail what Soloman and cronies are attempting? Is vote turn out one key, or won't that matter if the vote count is rigged?
What do they they think they can do in states like Oregon, where all the voting is done by mail, and the state as a whole is reliably Democratic? (I am so happy to live in OR rather than AZ now, because of proximity to my children and granddaughters, but I wonder if even here our votes are not safe from the monsters trying to destroy our democracy?!)

PS Who REMEMBERS that the United States CONSTITUTION declares that a POTUS cannot be confirmed if that person has a criminal record ie CONVICTION. Um…
Donald Trump’s sneaky ‘long game’ stacking of SCOTUS - now conveniently paying back the dividends he planned on - may be able to DELAY his sentencing a bit longer (deference to the “Office” of President), but, unless the Supreme Court allows him to ‘pardon himself’, Trump WILL face justice for his crimes - including the ‘TREASON of Jan6/21’ which cannot be permitted to ‘disappear’.
The people killed at that uprising are still DEAD…the members of the government attacked STILL TRAUMATIZED…the film footage of the insurrection/coup attempt still in existence…the footage of Trump’s speech INCITING THAT MOB TO “VIOLENCE”…the photo of the ‘gallows’ in readiness for Pence…the ‘statement’ that the whole traitorous debacle made to the rest of the World…

Pennsylvania's election system is quite secure. Trump and his cohorts need to keep their hands to themselves.
