This Week In The Big Picture

“The thing about life is, no one gets out alive.”

But even so, we rarely stop to think about how we actually want to make our final exit, and further, what happens to our bodies after.

This week we’ll be looking at some new intriguing options for an eco-friendly greener way to go.

Here’s a sneak peek:

And if you missed it, we wrote on Tuesday about the rise of Ron DeSantis, and how he is rapidly turning Florida into what’s known as an “illiberal” state. Disturbingly, under DeSantis’ leadership, the normal protections against demagoguery and state power are beginning to vanish in Florida.

We’ve seen that happen before with terrifying results. Read about Illiberal Florida here, and help us stop men like DeSantis before they wreck our cherished way of life.

Thank you for this topic about our remains, as we always think we'll have time but most often, barring lengthy illnesses and chronic conditions, death comes upon us suddenly. My beloved FIL passed away 3 weeks ago after a long struggle with issues related to strokes, and based on that experience I strongly urge anyone to look into final arrangements sooner than later. There is a whole industry devoted to funeral services and, like healthcare in this country, the expenses are breathtaking whether you opt for burial or cremation. And of course for many people, their choices may be limited by religious beliefs. I'm looking forward to learning about eco-friendly options, without expectation of cost savings.
