This new American isolationism is a huge opportunity for China to deepen its involvement on every continent, as U.S. relinquishes its role as "leader of the free world."
Jay, thanks for the enlightening discussion of the China-US trade/tariffs war. I just reread the section on rare earth minerals, and wonder if you or Kaiser can comment on the implications of China's restrictions on exports of 7 rare earth minerals and magnets that were imposed China’s Ministry of Commerce on April 4th. Thanks.
Brilliant discussion. Thanks so much. This conversation provided more in-depth insight on US-China trade than I've heard anywhere else. Many thanks, Kuo Brothers!
Jay, thanks so much for sharing your brother, Kaiser’s, knowledge of where China stands on the issues forced on them by this terrible administration’s actions!
And I knew, as soon as I saw his picture, he had to be in a rock band 🎶 🎸 ❤️
Drumpf is right to try and address China's intellectual thievery and its blatant disregard of copyright and trademark laws. Using tariffs as a blunt force instrument to do so, though, will only ruin many farmers and small businesses. He is also driving many of our allies and trading partners into the arms of the Chinese with his no-holds-barred tariff regime. He is squandering any advantage that we may have enjoyed with our 'soft' power and moral suasion. The U. S. can no longer be viewed as an honest broker!
No one is going to stampede back to our shores and shell out hundreds of millions of dollars just to begin manufacturing here again! Even if they did, the factories would be robotics controlled by AI! Sorry, unions, no new jobs for you!
Good stuff here - as painful as it is to see my 401k swing, I think there is a lot to be seen and learned. I started a four part series on the negotiation strategies and how they might apply right now https://open.substack.com/pub/srikaza/p/the-art-of-the-international-trade?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=1w9b37

I find it surprising how relatively restrained China has been through this tariff war--so far.
Thank you for this information. It brings even more clarity how really stupid this administration is.
Thank you both for this
informative and helpful
report.

The brothers Kuo are a tour de force in information and analysis. Thank you gentlemen for a most interesting and educational read. Deeply appreciated.
👏👏👏
How can we forget Trump’s pronouncement after a ten minute meeting with Xi that he now knows everything about the China/US relations.
I think that’s when it became clear that our our goose was cooked.
Very informative! Thanks to you and your brother
