I live what you see 😞 Okay, certainly not to the extent you are writing, but I'm a 73 yo Jew. I sobbed inconsolably when I went to both Ann Frank's house and The Holocaust Museum. I came home from both and talked to my grandparents, who purposely allowed everyone to see their numbers tattooed so they would ask about it and actually care about the answer, and we always ended every somber discussion thanking God that it would never happen again. People would never forget.

brilliant writing. my favorite line: "...enabled as he was by the silent complicity of cowards." that rings true right now. i am hoping the cracks i see will soon become falling bricks, and we can rebuild democracy with compassion for others.
