Hello, dear readers! This is Jay Kuo, one of the principal writers for The Big Picture.
We’re off to a tremendous start, especially in terms of how many of you are enjoying reading our work. We recently hit an amazing milestone: one million views in the last 30 days! We are absolutely thrilled by this reception.
But we also face a dilemma.
Back in March, we set out to offer The Big Picture as a publication supported solely by voluntary donations. As with public radio, we believe that we can best succeed in our mission by relying on the goodwill and dollars from our most loyal audiences. If you are one of our paid subscribers, we sincerely thank you!
We are an entirely self-financed team, so in order to sustain ourselves we need to ultimately achieve paid subscriber rates of around 10 percent of our regular readership. Right now, we are below 3 percent. But we believe we can do much better!
I know many of you believe in paying for good content and have been meaning to help out. To make that decision a bit easier, and for those who are in a financial position to do so, we’re offering an annual membership at a 20% discount through this week.
Just click the tab below to take advantage of this offer and let us know you appreciate the work we have put in so far!
You’ll receive our Sunday week in wins as a special thanks, too, available to paid subscribers to our newsletter.
We’re so excited for the next chapter of our journey together, as we continue to bring The Big Picture into focus.
I'm an annual subscriber for you and Uncle George plus a few others ! You can't imagine how important you guys are for my sanity! Continue on !!! Cheers !!!
This April, George Takei invited me and others to subscribe to TBP in order to try to win a particular bet he'd made.
I bought a subscription then, and am happy I'd done so.
The move inspired me to subscribe to other substacks I'd been following.
George may or may not have won his bet, but I'll bet he and others here on Substack are glad he made that wager!
